Rural Ambulance Assessments

Information

Many rural ambulance services in Greater Minnesota struggle to survive. The EMSRB received financial assistance from the Minnesota Department of Health, Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC)to conduct a pilot project to assess and assist stressed rural ambulance services. In 2004, a rural ambulance assessment tool was created to pilot with four primarily volunteer ambulance services in different regions of Greater Minnesota. Ambulance services volunteering for this pilot project included those operating in the communities of Henning (West Central region), Lewiston (South Central region), Floodwood (Northeastern region), and Lewisville (Southwest region). Additional information is available about this pilot project at this location on the website.
